Description:
‘The Life of the Lough’®
An Environmental Photographic Exhibition by Bernie Brown, ARPS
In the world of landscape photography, nothing is ever the same twice. Wind, sea and colours all change with the seasons, right in front of our eyes and on our doorstep that is, Strangford Lough. A moment then to consider the absolute effort that goes into many, many hours of patient ‘weather watching’, an essential element in the realisation of this latest version of Bernie Brown’s evolving photographic exhibition.
Captured here, on a broadest of broad ‘photo canvas’, are the local worlds of our ancient heritage and modern environment, sitting side by side in silent monochrome and resplendent colour, as if perhaps designed to do so from the beginning of time.
There are many reasons why this exhibition just ’works’, including the startling yellows in ‘Comber spring’ and the most subtle sunray that perfectly frames the timeless monochrome in ‘Audleystown Cairn’.
Then there are the people, local faces in familiar places, now on display for all of us to refresh our own ‘micro-memories’, as we celebrate this eclectic ‘art-imagery’ that is Bernie Brown’s ‘The Life of the Lough’.
‘The Life of the Lough’ exhibits in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall from 3rd – 25th Feb 2012.
